Your responsibilities

Graduate Product/Sales Manager

What do we want to achieve?

Do you have a STEM degree and the drive to build a career in sales, product strategy and customer relationship management within the maritime and defence industry?

As a Graduate Product/Sales Manager, you will join the Surface Ship Systems Division at TKMS ATLAS UK, helping to develop our Ships Products and support customer bid management activities. You will be offered a permanent role from day one and join our structured 2-year Graduate Scheme, giving you the opportunity to develop your commercial, product management and leadership skills within a leading maritime technology business.

The team is responsible for developing product opportunities, pursuing sales and leading bids that support the delivery of sonar and wider underwater security products. You will contribute to sales capture, customer engagement and product strategy, helping TKMS ATLAS UK strengthen its customer relationships and deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.

You will report to the Head of Sales, Surface Ship Systems Division, working closely with internal teams, customers and colleagues across the wider TKMS Group in the UK and internationally.

What will you be doing?

This is an opportunity to combine technical understanding, commercial thinking and relationship-building in a varied graduate role. You will gain experience across the sales lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and engaging customers through to coordinating bids and supporting product strategy.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting sales capture and pursuit activities, identifying and developing opportunities for Ships Products.

  • Contributing to the development of sales opportunities for sonar and wider underwater security products.

  • Leading and coordinating bid proposals, bringing together the relevant internal teams to deliver strong submissions.

  • Working towards agreed sales targets in collaboration with the Head of Sales.

  • Supporting the development and delivery of product strategies.

  • Building and maintaining customer and stakeholder networks in the UK and internationally.

  • Working collaboratively with teams across TKMS ATLAS UK and other divisions within the wider TKMS Group.

  • Engaging with senior management and key stakeholders to support sales and product objectives.

  • Helping coordinate teams and resources during busy bidding periods, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.

  • Developing your understanding of naval, maritime and defence technologies and how they meet customer needs.

You will work in a collaborative but commercially focused environment, where you will need to manage competing priorities, build relationships and think strategically. As your experience develops, you will have opportunities to take greater ownership of bids, customer relationships and product offerings.

What does our target candidate look like?

We are looking for ambitious, motivated graduates who are interested in combining technology, commercial development and customer engagement.

You will ideally have:

  • Be working towards a degree in a STEM-related discipline.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and forward-plan.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with a range of stakeholders.

  • The motivation and drive to contribute to sales goals, develop customer relationships and pursue new opportunities.

  • The potential to coordinate teams and lead collaborative bid activities.

  • The ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during busy bidding periods with fixed deadlines.

  • A proactive, hardworking and goal-driven approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and organisations.

An awareness of naval or maritime systems, or other military domains, would be advantageous but is not essential.

You should be comfortable working with different teams, engaging with stakeholders at various levels and developing relationships both in the UK and abroad. We are looking for someone with the potential to grow into a commercially focused role with increasing responsibility for customers, bids and product strategy.
